I have the same exact problem. For some reason after the game went full release this has been happening every so often. It doesn't make sense.
Try lowering your Latency setting to the lowest.
Same problem. Also have a higher patch on client than server, gets connection timeout

Makes no difference, doesn't work. Obviously they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up again, since the client is version xxx.257 and they are upgrading servers to xxx.255

Latency has absolutely nothing to do with patch versions, lol...
Im having this same issue, but its only isolated to a select few servers (For me, its NA-PVP-OfficialServer181 and 182) Im able to join another server just fine. (The two servers I can't join have like 4-5 people so that probably means other people can't join those select servers.)
I can't join EU PVE Ragnarok 42. There are 61 / 70 players on it... Usually it's 70/70 all the time. So something is wrong for sure.

It's probably the servers that has already been "upgraded" which are causing problems.

This will likely only work if you're having an issue connecting to the server based on latency issues. This is a different issue where the server patch versions are different. Nothing on our end can fix this issue, it's on Arks side, they need to roll out the patch for us.

Doesn't hurt trying, pretty much that's how trouble shootin works.
